Honda Atlas Sales Remain Flat Month-On-Month In August

Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited’s (HCAR) sales remained broadly stable month-on-month in August 2026, with the company selling 2,633 units compared with 2,640 units in July.

The marginal decline of just seven units translates into a 0.3% month-on-month decrease, indicating that HCAR performed relatively better than several competitors during a month marked by a broader slowdown in Pakistan’s automobile industry.

Honda Sales Surge 145% Year-On-Year

Despite the negligible monthly decline, HCAR’s August sales increased 145% year-on-year from 1,073 units sold in August 2025.

The sharp annual growth was primarily driven by stronger demand for the company’s Civic and City models, which continued to account for the overwhelming majority of HCAR’s monthly sales.

Civic and City Drive Sales Growth

Honda Civic and City sales reached 2,553 units in August, compared with 2,529 units in July and 699 units in August 2025.

The combined segment recorded a 1% month-on-month increase and a substantial 265% year-on-year rise.

With 2,553 units sold, Civic and City together accounted for nearly all of HCAR’s reported August sales, highlighting their central role in supporting the company’s overall performance.

HR-V and BR-V Volumes Decline

Sales of the Honda BR-V and HR-V fell to 80 units in August from 111 units in July and 374 units in August 2025.

The segment declined 28% month-on-month and 79% year-on-year.

The weaker performance reflects continued pressure on these models, particularly amid uncertainty over sales-tax treatment affecting the HR-V hybrid variant and the discontinuation of the BR-V.

HCAR Holds Up Amid Industry Slowdown

The broader automobile industry recorded a significant monthly contraction in August.

Industry car sales fell 21% month-on-month to 15,558 units, compared with 19,818 units in July.

Against this backdrop, HCAR’s near-flat monthly performance stands out. Strong Civic and City sales helped cushion weakness in the company’s SUV and crossover portfolio and limited the impact of the broader market slowdown.

Auto Market Outlook

HCAR’s August performance presents a mixed picture for the company’s product portfolio.

While Civic and City continue to provide strong momentum, the steep decline in HR-V and BR-V volumes highlights challenges in the SUV and crossover segment.

The company’s ability to sustain sales momentum will depend on consumer demand, financing conditions and greater clarity on automotive taxation and policy, particularly for hybrid vehicles.
