Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HCAR) recorded an 7.8% year-on-year decline in vehicle sales in September 2026, as lower volumes in the combined BR-V and HR-V category weighed on overall performance despite largely stable demand for the Honda City and Civic.
The company sold 2,128 vehicles during the month, compared with 2,307 units in September 2025. Sales also declined 19% month-on-month from 2,633 units in August, reflecting a slowdown in the company’s monthly performance.
Honda City and Civic Sales Provide Partial Support
Sales of the Honda City and Civic increased by 2.2% year-on-year to 2,021 units in September, offering some support amid weakness in other models.
The performance indicates that demand for Honda’s two main passenger car models remained relatively stable compared with the previous year. However, their sales growth was insufficient to offset the decline in the company’s other vehicle categories.
BR-V and HR-V Sales Drop 68% Year-on-Year
The combined BR-V and HR-V category recorded a sharp decline in September, with sales falling 68% year-on-year to 107 units from 330 units a year earlier.
The discontinuation of the BR-V variant contributed to the reduction in overall volumes, highlighting the impact that changes in a manufacturer’s product lineup can have on monthly sales performance.
While City and Civic sales continued to provide a relatively stable base, the decline in the combined BR-V and HR-V category remained a major factor behind HCAR’s weaker September results.
HCAR First-Quarter Sales Rise 52% in FY2027
Despite the monthly decline, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan recorded substantial growth in cumulative sales during the first quarter of fiscal year 2027.
The company sold 7,401 vehicles in the quarter, up 52% from 4,880 units in the corresponding period last year.
City and Civic sales reached 7,103 units, representing an 86% increase from 3,819 units a year earlier. In contrast, combined BR-V and HR-V sales declined 72% to 298 units.
The quarterly figures indicate that HCAR’s overall sales remained considerably stronger than in the previous year, supported primarily by higher volumes of its core passenger car models.
Pakistan’s Automobile Market Slows in September
The broader automobile market also experienced a decline during September 2026. Industry sales, including passenger cars, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), fell 12.1% year-on-year to 15,104 units.
Passenger car sales declined 9% to 10,841 units, while SUV and light commercial vehicle sales dropped 19% to 4,263 units.
The industry-wide slowdown provides additional context for HCAR’s monthly performance, although the company’s sales mix and model-specific developments also contributed to its decline.
Outlook: Can Honda Sustain Its Quarterly Growth?
Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan’s September performance reflects a contrast between weaker monthly sales and strong first-quarter growth. While the City and Civic continued to support volumes, lower sales in the combined BR-V and HR-V category affected the overall result.
The coming months will be important in determining whether HCAR can sustain its quarterly momentum amid softer market conditions and changes in its product lineup. Continued performance from the City and Civic will remain a key factor in the company’s sales trajectory.
