BYD, in partnership with Mega Motor Company (MMC), is showcasing its expanding new energy vehicle portfolio in Pakistan at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 in Lahore.
The showcase brings together electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, along with the introduction of BYD’s luxury technology brand DENZA and a range of genuine BYD accessories.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is the BYD SEALION 6, which is planned to become BYD’s first locally assembled vehicle in Pakistan, with production targeted to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
BYD Showcases Expanded New Energy Lineup
BYD’s PAPS 2026 lineup includes the BYD ATTO 2, described by the company as Pakistan’s most popular electric vehicle, alongside the BYD SHARK 6 Anniversary Edition in Outback Orange.
The showcase also features the SEALION 6 and DENZA B8, giving visitors an opportunity to experience a wider range of BYD’s new energy offerings.
The company said the lineup reflects its confidence in Pakistan’s market and highlights the growing range of alternatives available to consumers beyond conventional internal-combustion vehicles.
SEALION 6 Set for Local Assembly
The BYD SEALION 6 represents a major step in the company’s Pakistan strategy, with local assembly planned to commence in Q4 2026.
The move would mark a transition for BYD and MMC from importing global new energy vehicle technology into Pakistan toward establishing a local production footprint.
The planned assembly is also expected to contribute to the broader development of Pakistan’s automotive sector as demand for electric and electrified vehicles continues to expand.
Super DM-i Technology Offers Up to 1,100km Range
The SEALION 6 is powered by BYD’s Super DM-i (Dual Mode – intelligence) platform, the company’s latest-generation intelligent hybrid system.
BYD said its Super DM technology has surpassed 8.5 million vehicles sold globally.
The SEALION 6 combines electric driving with plug-in hybrid flexibility and offers a total range of up to 1,100 kilometres, according to the company.
The system is designed to prioritise electric driving while intelligently managing electric and hybrid power to deliver fuel efficiency without compromising performance.
BYD said the technology is particularly suited to everyday driving conditions in Pakistan, offering electric mobility while addressing range concerns during longer journeys.
BYD Sees Strong Potential in Pakistan
Lei Jian, Country Head – BYD Pakistan, said the response to BYD since its entry into Pakistan has strengthened the company’s confidence in the market.
“Pakistan has shown strong potential for new energy mobility,” Jian said, adding that PAPS provides an opportunity to demonstrate BYD’s existing technology as well as its future direction.
He described the planned local assembly of the SEALION 6 as an important step toward building a long-term presence in Pakistan and supporting the country’s transition toward new energy mobility.
Localisation Becomes Part of BYD’s Growth Strategy
Danish Khaliq, VP Sales & Strategy, BYD Pakistan – Mega Motor Company (MMC), said Pakistani consumers have increasingly shown interest in new automotive technologies.
He said the PAPS lineup reflects this shift by bringing together pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and DENZA, BYD’s luxury technology brand.
Khaliq said the SEALION 6 takes the company’s market expansion a step further by introducing localisation into its strategy.
He added that moving toward local assembly would not only expand BYD’s portfolio but could also contribute to shaping the next generation of mobility in Pakistan.
BYD Brings DENZA and Accessories to PAPS
Alongside its core BYD models, the company is introducing DENZA, its luxury technology brand, through the B8 at PAPS 2026.
BYD is also showcasing genuine accessories aimed at enhancing the ownership experience.
The broader display demonstrates the company’s attempt to build an ecosystem around its new energy vehicle portfolio rather than focusing solely on individual vehicle models.
PAPS 2026 Showcase and Customer Offer
BYD’s showcase is available at Hall No. 2 of the Expo Center in Lahore during PAPS 2026, which is being held from September 18 to September 20.
As part of the PAPS 2026 offer, customers who book orders at the BYD pavilion during the show will be eligible for first-year free service, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
The event gives BYD an opportunity to present its current lineup while also highlighting its planned move toward local vehicle assembly in Pakistan.
