The recognition highlights community initiatives providing vocational training, digital and financial skills, and safer public spaces for women across Pakistan.

L’Oréal Pakistan has received recognition in the “Inclusive Development and Economic Growth” category at the 29th Sustainable Development Conference. Hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), the conference acknowledged the company’s efforts to strengthen women’s economic participation and access to sustainable livelihoods.

The recognition highlights L’Oréal Pakistan’s community programmes, which focus on vocational training, digital literacy, financial inclusion and women’s safety. Through partnerships with local organisations, the company supports women seeking employment, self-employment and greater economic independence.

Beauty Training Creates Livelihood Opportunities

One of the key initiatives is Beauty for a Better Life, supported by the Fondation L’Oréal and implemented in Pakistan in partnership with the Depilex SmileAgain Foundation.

The programme provides vocational beauty training to survivors of domestic violence and acid attacks. It aims to equip participants with practical skills that can help them secure employment or establish their own businesses.

By developing professional capabilities, the initiative seeks to create sustainable income opportunities and support women’s financial independence.

Digital Literacy Supports Women Entrepreneurs

L’Oréal Pakistan also runs a Digital Literacy Programme with CIRCLE, supported by the L’Oréal Fund for Women.

The initiative equips women with digital and financial skills to help them develop and expand home-based businesses. These capabilities can improve access to customers, strengthen business management and create opportunities for income generation.

The programme reflects the growing importance of digital inclusion in expanding women’s participation in Pakistan’s economy.

Campaign Promotes Safer Public Spaces for Women

Another initiative, L’Oréal Paris’ Stand Up Against Street Harassment campaign, focuses on improving women’s safety in public spaces.

Implemented in collaboration with Bedari, the programme raises awareness of safe and effective intervention techniques. It encourages people to recognise street harassment and take appropriate action to support those affected.

The initiative aims to promote greater awareness and encourage collective responsibility for safer public environments.

L’Oréal Showcases Sustainability Strategy at SIE

Alongside its community programmes, L’Oréal Pakistan presented L’Oréal for the Future at the Sustainability Investment Expo (SIE).

The Group’s sustainability programme focuses on four key pillars: managing the climate transition, protecting nature, promoting circularity and supporting communities.

Through this framework, L’Oréal aims to strengthen sustainability across its operations while contributing to a more inclusive and environmentally responsible future.

The recognition at the SDPI conference highlights the role of private-sector partnerships in addressing social and economic challenges. L’Oréal Pakistan’s initiatives demonstrate how vocational development, digital inclusion and community engagement can support women’s economic empowerment.
