The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has formally registered BIGO LIVE and Likee in Pakistan under Bigo Service Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., marking a step towards strengthening regulatory engagement with major digital platforms.
The registration follows the Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight and Safeguards) Rules, 2021, which provide the regulatory framework for addressing unlawful online content in the country.
In a statement issued on November 4, 2026, the PTA said it looked forward to strengthening its collaboration with BIGO to improve content moderation mechanisms, encourage responsible platform use and ensure compliance with applicable Pakistani laws.
The authority said the registration would support its efforts to establish a safer and more secure digital environment for users across Pakistan.
