MG Pakistan has marked the CKD line-off of the All-New MG ZS, with the first locally assembled units leaving the company’s Lahore plant for customer deliveries.
All-New MG ZS Enters Local Assembly
The All-New MG ZS is being offered in Pakistan with three variants: Vibe Petrol, Hybrid+ Excite and Hybrid+ Essence.
The Vibe Petrol is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a CVT transmission. The two Hybrid+ variants use MG’s 1.5-litre Hybrid+ powertrain with a three-speed hybrid transmission.
According to MG Pakistan, the Hybrid+ system produces 158 kW of combined power and 465 Nm of combined torque, with an electric-first driving character designed to combine responsive performance with improved efficiency.
The CKD line-off represents another step in MG Pakistan’s local manufacturing and assembly programme, bringing the company’s latest ZS model closer to Pakistani customers through local production.
Safety And Technology Features
Safety is a major part of the All-New MG ZS specification, with all three variants equipped with six airbags, Bosch ESP 9.3, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and an 81% high-strength steel body structure.
The SUV also features digital interfaces, smartphone connectivity and flexible interior storage.
Boot capacity stands at 443 litres and can increase to 1,457 litres when the rear seats are folded. The range-topping variant additionally features a powered tailgate and an electronic panoramic sunroof.
From Production Line To Customers
The latest milestone goes beyond the start of local assembly. Trailers carrying the first locally assembled MG ZS units have now departed the Lahore plant for customer deliveries.
MG Motor Pakistan CEO Jianqiang Shao said the line-off demonstrates the company’s commitment to its previously communicated delivery timeline.
“With the first vehicles now leaving our factory for customer deliveries, we are delivering on the commitment we made to our customers to begin deliveries by the end of September.”
The company described the development as part of its broader effort to bring MG’s global engineering, safety, technology and design standards to Pakistani consumers.
Next Chapter For MG ZS In Pakistan
The local assembly of the All-New MG ZS adds another model to MG Pakistan’s localisation journey and moves the vehicle from launch and production into customer delivery.
With the first CKD units now leaving the Lahore facility, the company is beginning deliveries within the timeline announced at the vehicle’s introduction.
The development also marks the start of the next phase for the ZS in Pakistan, with locally assembled units now reaching customers.
