L’Oréal Pakistan Highlights Women’s Economic Empowerment

Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager and CEO of L’Oréal Pakistan, said the company believes in using beauty as a force for good.

He said L’Oréal would continue working to empower women by developing their capabilities, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and supporting safe and inclusive spaces.

The company’s initiatives in Pakistan include programmes focused on vocational training, digital literacy, financial skills and safer public spaces.

Beauty for a Better Life Programme Supports Women

The Beauty for a Better Life training programme in Pakistan, supported by Fondation L’Oréal and implemented with the Depilex SmileAgain Foundation, provides survivors of domestic violence and acid attacks with skills in beauty and hairstyling.

The programme aims to help participants develop skills that can support dignified livelihoods and provide opportunities to rebuild their lives.

L’Oréal said thousands of women have also gained vocational beauty skills through its initiatives to support sustainable employment opportunities.

Digital Literacy Programme Supports Women Entrepreneurs

The Digital Literacy Program, supported by the L’Oréal Fund for Women and implemented in partnership with CIRCLE, focuses on helping women develop digital and financial skills.

The programme is designed to support women operating home-based microbusinesses by providing skills that can help them manage and grow their businesses.

The initiative forms part of L’Oréal’s wider focus on improving access to skills and economic opportunities for women.

Stand Up Against Street Harassment Initiative

L’Oréal Paris’ Stand Up Against Street Harassment initiative, implemented in collaboration with Bedari, focuses on raising awareness about safe intervention methods.

The programme aims to encourage practical responses to street harassment and contribute to making public spaces safer for women.

L’Oréal for the Future Focuses on Sustainability

At the global level, L’Oréal’s L’Oréal for the Future sustainability programme focuses on four key pillars: stewarding the climate transition, safeguarding nature, driving circularity and supporting communities.

The programme provides a framework for the Group’s sustainability efforts and its approach to environmental and social challenges.

Inclusive Sourcing Supports Vulnerable Communities

Through its Inclusive Sourcing programme, L’Oréal works with suppliers to create employment and business opportunities for people from vulnerable or underrepresented communities.

The company said the initiative also contributes to building a more resilient supply chain by incorporating greater social inclusion into sourcing activities.
