The invitation was personally extended to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif by President Trump. Pakistan’s decision aligns with its longstanding support for Palestinian rights and efforts to implement the Gaza Peace Plan under UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

Pakistan’s Commitment to Peace Pakistan expressed optimism that the Board of Peace will drive concrete actions, including a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, increased humanitarian assistance for Palestinians, and comprehensive reconstruction of the war-devastated enclave.

The Foreign Office emphasized the need for a credible, time-bound political process to realize Palestinian self-determination in line with international law and UN resolutions.

Reaffirmation of Two-State Vision Islamabad reiterated its firm support for an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (East Jerusalem) as its capital. By joining the BoP, Pakistan aims to play a constructive role in ending Palestinian suffering and advancing regional stability.

This move reflects Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic stance on the Palestine issue and its willingness to engage with international mechanisms for peace, even as the Board of Peace — led by Trump — draws varied global responses.
