EDB CEO Hamad Ali Mansoor Placed On Forced Leave Amid Departmental Inquiry

ISLAMABAD: Faisal Nisar Chaudhry, a Grade-20 officer of the Secretariat Group, has assumed additional charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Engineering Development Board (EDB) on the directions of the prime minister.

The appointment follows the placement of incumbent CEO Hamad Ali Mansoor on forced leave pending the completion of a high-level departmental inquiry.

The temporary change in leadership comes as the government reviews matters concerning the board’s administration. No details of the inquiry or the allegations, if any, have been disclosed in the information available.

New CEO Holds Introductory Meeting

After formally assuming charge, Faisal held an introductory meeting with officers and staff of the EDB.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the newly appointed acting CEO to outline his approach to institutional management and engage with employees working across the board.

Addressing the gathering, Faisal said the progress of the institution was closely linked to the progress of everyone associated with it.

EDB’s Role In Industrial Development

The Engineering Development Board operates under the Ministry of Industries and Production and is tasked with supporting the development of Pakistan’s engineering and manufacturing sectors.

Its work involves initiatives related to industrial growth, engineering capabilities, technology development and investment facilitation.

The leadership transition places Faisal at the helm of the board while the departmental inquiry into the former CEO remains pending.
